Woodard Road Haunted House Success!Posted on: 2010-11-03On Woodard Road there lies the old Farnham school house which was built in 1910. At some point in time it was moved down the road and converted in to a home, which I live in today. In the years that we have been living at the house, we have built and performed in 3 haunted houses. We put on these haunted houses for kids of all ages in our neighborhood free of charge.
Last year (2009) we didn't get to have the haunted house, because we didn't have enough help, instead we just gave out candy. There were so many kids, and teens that came up to our door ready to go through the haunted house, and unfortunately we had to turn them away. Seeing their sad little faces when I told them that there wasn't a haunted house was a motivation for us to get this thing going again.
So, this year on Sunday, October 31, 2010 we had whopping 14 volunteers, which then allowed us to continue our tradition. On Halloween night we had an hearty helping of people who walked and even drove to come and visit us. Unlike most haunted houses in the area, our haunted house allows you to physically walk through our 100 year old home (which can be quite scary on its own). Add actors, and props and you have a recipe for horror! To top it all off we have a cauldron full of candy at the end. This year was fantastic!
Thank you to everyone who came out to our haunted house, and a HUGE thanks to those who donated!Email:tvervisch@yahoo.com
